We are Making a Film: Cambur Pintón
For Venezuelans, music is a daily affair that elevates their spirit and keeps them grounded. Four folk instruments tell this story and make you wonder, what is the rhythm of my life? what’s my music?
The Story
The movie is about life and music intertwined. Four musical instruments tell the story that they play each day. Their ancestors are Arabic, Spanish, African and American Indigenous. They expand, accompany and enhance life in a tropical paradise. We bring an immersive experience of what it is like to be a unique sound, or beat, or silence.
The Documentary
The movie shows our people, how music is an omnipresent soundtrack of everyday life from the point of view of its folk instruments: el cuatro, el arpa, las maracas y el tambor.
An unusual point of view that is very connected to our heritage.
We use representatives of our earliest influences (Arabic, Spanish, African, and American Indigenous) to tell our musical story.
Why this movie?
Music lifts the spirit and reminds us who we are, pulls strength from our ground, and sets us on a path with dignity.
Can we empower the people of a country through their music? We think we can.
Showcasing the music that Venezuelans make plus the culture, the region, and the environment that surrounds them: protects authenticity, encourages self-determination, and most of all, brings us immense joy!
The documentary will be a window to a place where life is music and music is life. Uplifting!
Giving Back
More than ever before, in dark times in Venezuela, where circumstances are raw, there is one thing that consistently saves the day, and that is music.
I have the opportunity to show my gratitude honoring the folklore land and the people that were the air I breathed while I was growing up.
Join me in making this tribute, a documentary that praises music and life intertwined.

An Evening Of Inspiration:
Cambur Pintón
presented at
Community School of Music and Arts
Venezuelan art and music weave a beautiful tapestry of colors, sounds, and stories that define its rich contribution to the world. Unfortunately, tragedy has been the news of the day. Without discounting the reality of it all, it’s important to realize that within the chaos, there are always stories of people who refuse to let their circumstances define them. Join us for an illuminating evening that will take you on a vibrant tour of what this tropical country has to offer, focusing on the uplifting aspects largely absent from the mainstream narrative.
